Our curriculum is designed to help children build a strong foundation in Ukrainian language, culture, and identity. Each subject connects students to their heritage while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and creativity. Lessons are adapted to different age groups, ensuring meaningful and age-appropriate learning.

Core Programmes

This programme is based on the 2024 curriculum of the Association of Ukrainian Teachers in Great Britain (AUT UK).

In 2024, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine approved modified (shortened) curricula for the Ukrainian Studies component. These include programmes in Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature, the history of Ukraine and geography.

These curricula are used for pupils in Years 5–11 who require additional lessons to master the core subjects and catch up on what they missed due to the war, without being given a double workload.

If a pupil is abroad and studies under the shortened curricula, they have the right to have grades in other subjects obtained abroad recognised.

Ukrainian Language

Children develop their speaking, reading, and writing skills through games, stories, songs, and age-appropriate grammar. We focus on clear communication and building vocabulary in a natural, engaging way.

Ukrainian Literature

Students discover the rich world of Ukrainian tales, poems, and classic authors. Through reading and discussion, they connect emotionally with the values and stories of their culture.

History of Ukraine

We introduce key events, historical figures, and national milestones to help children understand Ukraine’s journey and significance in the world. Lessons inspire pride and awareness of their roots.

Geography of Ukraine

Children learn about Ukraine’s regions, landmarks, natural resources, and neighboring countries. Activities include maps, crafts, and interactive discussions that bring geography to life.

Ukrainian Studies & Traditions

From holidays and customs to national symbols and folklore — this subject brings culture into the classroom. Students explore traditions through crafts, songs, and celebrations.

Music Lessons

Children take part in engaging music classes that introduce Ukrainian folk songs, rhythms, and instruments. These lessons support language development, boost confidence, and bring joy through creativity.
