Ukrainian School Band (USB)

USB performs Ukrainian folk and popular songs with live instrumentation&vocals

Ukrainian School Band began as a heartfelt response to the war in Ukraine, offering newly arrived children in Nottingham a safe space to express themselves, connect with others, and find joy through music. Led by Iryna Muha, the small group quickly grew into a vibrant musical family—featuring choir, guitars, bass, violin, piano, and powerful voices. Together, they perform uplifting concerts that support good causes and bring the community together.

Ukrainian Dance Club

Join us for the joy of movement and tradition!

A new Ukrainian Dance Club brings together community, culture, and rhythm. We invite boys and girls aged 10 to 18 to enjoy traditional Ukrainian dance with a contemporary twist.

The new dance group plans regular performances throughout the year at various cultural and community events. This is a great opportunity for young people to develop, uphold Ukrainian traditions, and perform on stage.

Classes are led by professional Ukrainian folk dance and ballet teacher Kateryna Tor.

Participation is free, but registration is required.

Photography Club

A space for creativity, self-expression, and visual storytelling

The Nottingham Ukrainian School Photography Club invites teens aged 13–18 to explore the art of photography in an inspiring and supportive environment. Recently, students had a unique opportunity to learn from Ciaran Spencer, a British photographer and Portrait of Britain 2024 winner. Through hands-on workshops, Ciaran shared insights from his project Parallel Lives, which captures the stories of Ukrainians living in the UK.
Up next: more exciting sessions with professional photographers and a special creative journey—each participant will develop their own self-portrait, from concept to final image. No experience or equipment needed—just curiosity and a desire to create!
